It was a series of hard hitting, fast skating and skillful shots that caused the CD Dodd Perth Thunder to fall the the CBR Brave 5-1 at Perth Ice Arena on Saturday night.
The first period started with great pressure at both ends, but it was Brayden Low assisted by Hayden Dawes with 12:50 remaining that broke through the defence and put the CBR Brave on the score board.
A penalty that sent Bayley Kubara to the box gave the Thunder their first power play of the night, but after applying the pressure they weren't able to convert, and Jordan Draper added another Brave goal to give them a 2-0 lead.
The second period was filled in skilful skating, hard hitting, lightning quick passes and brilliant saves on both ends, but no one was able to convert and the score remained 2-0 Brave.
The third period started quickly with another goal from Jordan Draper with just 22 seconds played, before Hayden Dawes scored with 11:31 remaining, quickly followed by a lightning fast tap in from Casey Kubara with 9:35 on the clock to give CBR a 5-0 lead.
It wasn't until the last minute that the CD Dodd Perth Thunder drought was broken by import Keven Vellieux with 14 seconds remaining, sealing a disappointing 5-1 loss.
