The Perth Thunder are thrilled to announce that Canadian goaltender Peter Di Salvo will be returning to the AIHL for a second stint with the Thunder, this time as the full-time goaltender. Di Salvo last played for the Thunder in 2015, where he was an emergency replacement goalie. He played six games, winning all six with a goals against average of 1.33 and a save percentage of .944, recording two shutouts in the process. The 26-year-old has since been splitting time between the East Coast Hockey League and the Southern Professional Hockey League in North America, primarily playing for the Mississippi Riverkings of the SPHL, while spending time on loan with five different teams in the ECHL. In 2014, Di Salvo was part of the Pensacola Ice Flyers team that won the SPHL championship, while in 2015 he was named to the second All-Star team of the SPHL in a season where he posted a .921 SV% and a 2.36 GAA from 30 starts for the Riverkings. Di Salvo will join his teammates at training at the conclusion of the current SPHL season, and you can purchase your tickets to see him in action here |
