The Perth Thunder will kick off the 2016 Australian Ice Hockey League season at home with a standalone fixture against the reigning Goodall Cup Champion Newcastle North Stars on Sunday, April 24.
The puck will drop at 4.30pm for the marquee match-up, marking the start of the Thunder's 28-game schedule for season 2016, including four games (two home, two away) against each opposing team.
The Thunder will face a rematch against the 2015 semi-final nemesis Melbourne Ice on May 28-29 at Perth Ice Arena, and will conclude the regular season against the Ice in Melbourne on August 20-21.
The AIHL Finals Series will take place on August 27-28, with the venue to be determined later in the season.
Also included in the 2016 schedule is a general bye on the weekend of June 11-12 to make way for the AIHL's second annual All-Star weekend at Penrith Ice Palace.Perth Thunder's 2016 schedule is available here:
