The Perth Thunder have continued their club-record winning streak, extending their unbeaten run to nine consecutive games with a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Sydney Ice Dogs in Liverpool on Saturday.
Local wingers Jonathon Bremner and Kieren Webster each tallied a goal and an assist, while import Jessyko Bernard scored the game-winning goal to continue the great scoring spread for the Thunder.
Webster opened the scoring 10 minutes in to the first period with his second goal of the season, and the Thunder took a 1-0 lead in to the first intermission.
The Ice Dogs hit back in the second period, scoring two consecutive goals to take a 2-1 lead in to second intermission.
Bremner levelled the scores a little over two minutes in to the third period with his second goal of the season, with Liam Jeffries and Tomek Sak credited with the assists.
Bernard scored the game winner four minutes later, with Jordy Kyros earning an assist shortly after stepping out of the penalty box, as well as Webster.
Goaltender Thomas Heemskerk was once again solid in net, stopping 27 of 29 Ice Dogs shots, while the Thunder had 24 of their 27 shots stopped.
The Thunder take on the Newcastle North Stars today looking to stretch their winning streak to 10.
