Having completed their third bye weekend of the season, the Perth Thunder hop on the plane across the Nullarbor to take on the Melbourne Mustangs at O'Brien Group Arena in Melbourne this Saturday and Sunday.
The Thunder will be buoyant after recording a 6-3 victory at home in their last start against Adelaide, having now won 10 of the past 12 games, with some key players hitting form.
Since winning the All-Star MVP, Michael Dorr has been unstoppable, leading the team in scoring on the home weekend against the Adrenaline, while Ben Breault has continued his fine form on the top line.
The Thunder have relied heavily on the scoring of local players during their away fixtures so far this season, with local players scoring 8 of the Thunder's 12 goals in the last four road games.
Kieren Webster tallied two goals in New South Wales two weeks ago while Jonathon Bremner had a goal and an assist, while Tomek Sak has scored four of his six season points on the road.
The Mustangs play host and will be looking for a crucial six points as they hope to close the gap on the top four and a finals berth.
The 2014 Goodall Cup champions currently sit in fifth place, seven points adrift of CBR Brave in fourth and are dangerously close to slipping out of the finals race, so will be desperate to shut the Thunder out at home.
Jamie Bourke leads the Mustangs in scoring with 19 points (12 goals, seven assists) on the season, while Fraser Carson has manned the net for a majority of the season, posting five wins in 13 starts.
