Your Perth Thunder have mastered a stunning come-from-behind win over the CBR Brave on Saturday, erasing a three-goal third period deficit and securing the 4-3 victory in a shootout at Perth Ice Arena.
Thunder's import forwards proved the difference in an entertaining contest, each scoring a goal as the Thunder out-shot the Brave 40-31.
The Brave scored three goals in the first ten minutes of play to silence what was a raucous home crowd, with the building packed to the rafters for Pink Night.
Both teams were then held off the score sheet through the second period, before the Brave got in to penalty trouble, with two players taking misconduct penalties and having to sit in the box for the first nine minutes of the third period.
The Thunder made the most of the chances they were given, with Jessyko Bernard firing in the first goal less than two minutes in to the third period to take the score to 3-1.
Ben Breault then scored a beauty off the rush when the sides were skating four on four to cut the deficit to one goal, 3-2.
The Brave then got in more penalty trouble, conceding a five-on-three power play chance to the Thunder, and Michael Dorr made sure they paid full price with a power play goal to tie the scores at 3-3.
Bernard and Breault then scored in the shootout to secure a win that stretched the Thunder's lead to six points over fourth-placed CBR.
Due to the North Stars defeating the Ice, the Thunder dropped to third place in the AIHL standings despite the win.
