The Perth Thunder have split the weekend with CBR Brave at one game apiece, going down 4-2 in a tight, entertaining contest at Perth Ice Arena.
Michael Dorr and Rob Haselhurst scored for the Thunder, but two power play goals, including one in the final three minutes, were enough to see the CBR Brave over the line.
The Brave took an early 1-0 lead on a point shot from a defenceman, before Dorr tipped in Jessyko Bernard's shot from the line to level the scores at 1-1 heading in to the first intermission.
The Brave took the lead 2-1 after nine minutes of play in the second period, but Haselhurst tied the game just 20 seconds later, with Bernard screening the goalie to allow Haselhurst's long wrist to to hit the back of the net.
With the scores tied at 2-2 for a long stretch, it took a power play goal in the final three minutes to break the deadlock, with CBR taking a 3-2 lead before scoring in to an empty net in the last minute for a 4-2 final score.
The Thunder now have another weekend of rest, the final bye of the season, before jet setting to Sydney to place the Sydney Bears and Sydney Ice Dogs on July 23-24.
The next, and penultimate, home weekend is July 30-31 against the Sydney Ice Dogs, and you can secure your tickets here
