Perth Thunder’s leading scorer in 2016, and the holder of the Thunder record for most points in a single season, Ben Breault, is making a return to Perth for season 2017.
Breault recorded 52 points (26 goals, 26 assists) in 28 regular season appearances in 2016, beating the single season points record previously held by Ken Rolph, whilst also scoring a goal in the Thunder’s semi-final defeat to Newcastle.
His points total placed him second in league scoring for the season, and Breault expressed his happiness at returning to the Thunder for his second season in the AIHL.
“I’m so excited that I am coming back to play for Perth Thunder in the AIHL for a second season,” Breault said. “Last season was great, I had the chance to play for arguably the best organization in the league as well as being part of an unbelievable group of guys.”
When asked what he was hoping to achieve in 2017, Breault said he has one simple goal in mind.
“The only thing in our sight will be that Cup,” Breault said. “That’s my only goal and I’m sure we (players and staff) are all ready to make it our mission to do everything it takes to hoist the Cup and share it with our loyal fans in Perth.”
Breault will fly in to Perth in mid-February and will immediately join Thunder training camp.
